Dr. Massimiliano "Max" Di Giosia is a board-certified Orofacial Pain Specialist dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ disorders, chronic orofacial pain, headaches, snoring, and obstructive sleep apnea. He completed his residency training in Orofacial Pain at the University of Kentucky and also pursued postgraduate training in headache medicine and orthodontics in Italy.
Orofacial Pain is the only dental specialty officially recognized by the American Dental Association that includes the diagnosis and management of TMJ disorders, chronic orofacial pain, trigeminal neuropathic and neurovascular conditions, primary headache disorders, and sleep-related breathing disorders.
Dr. Di Giosia is the only residency-trained and board-certified Orofacial Pain Specialist in the state of Indiana.
With his diverse clinical and academic background, Dr. Di Giosia provides comprehensive, patient-centered care and frequently collaborates with other healthcare professionals in the management of complex pain and sleep-related conditions.
Dr. Di Giosia has practiced in both Italy and the United States and has made significant contributions to the fields of orofacial pain, and dental sleep medicine. He has served as an adjunct professor in Italy, as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
He is committed to improving patients' quality of life through personalized, evidence-based care.
In addition to his clinical work, he is actively involved in several professional organizations, has authored multiple scientific papers and book chapters on orofacial pain and sleep disorders, and has lectured nationally and internationally on these topics.
Dr. Di Giosia is also a member of Global Dental Ambassadors and has participated in academic and clinical missions in Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam.
